The Rev. Dr. Allen R. Hilton has his own consulting business and is the Exec. Dir. of a non-profit initiative called House United, which he founded in 2016. His day job takes him ‘round the nation to help people in churches, schools, corporate teams, and other groups learn to collaborate and build community, even though they vote differently in elections. His book, “A House United: How the Church Can Save the World”, suggests that faith communities ought to be an active part of the solution to political polarization.
After degrees at Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Yale University (Ph.D.), Dr. Hilton taught New Testament at St. Mary’s College of California and then Yale Divinity School before being called into parish ministry. As an ordained minister Rev. Hilton served larger mainline churches in CT, WA, MN, and AZ. These days, he lives in Austin, TX, with his wife Liz, their sons, Sam and Isaac, and their labradoodle Watson.
