Instructions for Facilitators

Each of the weekly modules in this course contains a short video featuring scholars of the text, a study guide, and discussion questions. Certain modules also feature additional resources for further study.

Below is the schedule for which portions of the text are being studied in a given week, occasionally including optional reading when relevant. In addition to reviewing the recommended scripture, you should review the “Questions for Discussion” section each week in order to help facilitate group discussion.

Week 1 – Prophetic Messenger

1. Prepare for the session by reading the introduction to the course and reflecting on what you already know about Isaiah chapters 40-55.
2. Read Isaiah chapters 6-9.

Week 2 – Felling of Pride

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah chapters 10-12.

Week 3 – Renewed Judgment

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah chapters 34-39.

Week 4 – Divine Word

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah chapter 40.

Week 5 – Vindication and Deliverance

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah 41:1 – 44:23.

Week 6 – Agents of God’s Redemption

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah 44:24 – 48:22.

Week 7 – Servant and Bride

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah 49:1 – 52:12.

Week 8 – Arm of God

1. Prepare for the session by reading Isaiah 52:13 – 55:13.
