Instructions for Facilitators

Each of the weekly modules in this course contains a short video featuring scholars of the text, a study guide, and discussion questions. Certain modules also feature additional resources for further study.

If desired, this course could be broken up into two-week courses featured on one of the four books discussed.

Below is the schedule for which portions of the text are being studied in a given week, occasionally including optional reading when relevant. In addition to reviewing the recommended scripture, you should review the “Questions for Discussion” section each week in order to help facilitate group discussion.

Week 1 – The Book of Ruth, Part 1

1. Prepare for the session by reading the book of Ruth.
2. Optional: Read Genesis 38.
3. Optional: Review the book of Judges.

Week 2 – The Book of Ruth, Part 2

1. Prepare for the session by reviewing the book of Ruth.

Week 3 – Song of Songs, Part 1

1. Prepare for the session by reading Song of Songs.

Week 4 – Song of Songs, Part 2

1. Prepare for the session by reviewing Song of Songs.

Week 5 – Lamentations, Part 1

1. Prepare for the session by reading the book of Lamentations.

Week 6 – Lamentations, Part 2

1. Prepare for the session by reviewing the book of Lamentations, with a special focus on chapter 3.

Week 7 – Esther, Part 1

1. Prepare for the session by reading the book of Esther.

Week 8 – Esther, Part 2

1. Prepare for the session by reviewing the book of Esther.
