Instructions for Facilitators

Each of the weekly modules in this course contains a short video featuring scholars of the text, a study guide, and discussion questions. Certain modules also feature additional resources for further study.

Below is the schedule for which portions of the text are being studied in a given week, occasionally including optional reading when relevant. In addition to reviewing the recommended scripture, you should review the “Questions for Discussion” section each week in order to help facilitate group discussion.

Week 1 – Human Problem, Divine Solution

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapters 1-3.

Week 2 – Faith’s Poster Boy

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapter 4.
2. Optional: Read Genesis chapters 15-17 and Psalm 32.

Week 3 – Living in Hope

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapter 5.
2. Optional: Read Genesis 2-3.

Week 4 – New Lord, New Life

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapter 6.

Week 5 – From Flesh to Spirit

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapters 7 and 8.

Week 6 – History Matters!

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapters 9-11.

Week 7 – Transformed Community

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapters 12-13.
2. Optional: Read Matthew 22:15-22.

Week 8 – Generous Welcome

1. Prepare for the session by reading Romans chapters 14-16.
