Instructions for Facilitators

Each of the weekly modules in this course contains a short video featuring scholars of the text, a study guide, and discussion questions. Certain modules also feature additional resources for further study.

Below is the schedule for which portions of the text are being studied in a given week, occasionally including optional reading when relevant. In addition to reviewing the recommended scripture, you should review the “Questions for Discussion” section each week in order to help facilitate group discussion.

Week 1 – Greetings And Thanksgiving

1. Prepare for the session by reading 1 Thessalonians chapter 1.

Week 2 – The Bonds Of Affection

1. Prepare for the session by reading 1 Thessalonians chapter 2.

Week 3 – A Messenger And His Message

1. Prepare for the session by reading 1 Thessalonians chapter 3.

Week 4 – Instructions Of Christian Life

1. Prepare for the session by reading 1 Thessalonians chapter 4.

Week 5 – Eschatology And Final Admonitions

1. Prepare for the session by reading 1 Thessalonians chapter 5.
2. Optional: Read Jeremiah 6, 25 and Daniel 7-12.
3. Optional: read Mark 13, John 16, and Revelation 12.

Week 6 – More Thanksgiving

1. Prepare for the session by reading 2 Thessalonians chapter 1.
2. Optional: Review 1 Thessalonians.

Week 7 – Resistance And Delay

1. Prepare for the session by reading 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

Week 8 – Some Practical Advice

1. Prepare for the session by reading 2 Thessalonians chapter 3.
2. Optional: Read John 13, Mark 4, and Luke 22.
