Is the social teaching of these letters still useful to us, given that we live in different times? Are we entitled to “cherry pick” what we do or don’t like about it, or do we have to accept it all or none of it?
If we do “cherry pick,” on what grounds do we do so, and how does this fit with our acceptance of all these letters as scripture?
Are we equipped to detect false teachers or teachings in our own church? How do we seek to do so?
