Old Testament

The first part of the Christian biblical canon, the Old Testament, is based primarily on the twenty-four books of the Hebrew Bible (or Tanakh), a collection of ancient religious Hebrew writings by the Israelites believed by most Christians and religious Jews to be the sacred Word of God.

New Testament

The New Testament is the second part of the Christian biblical canon, and focuses on the teachings of Jesus and events in first-century Christianity. Christians regard both the Old and New Testaments together as sacred scripture.
